Pilates

Pilates is a method of physical fitness that develops long, streamlined musculature and emphasizes deep abdominal or core strength. The method develops healthy postural patterns and increases overall strength and flexibility. It helps to create a strong mind/body connection, enhancing mental focus and increasing self esteem. It is an excellent system of exercise for all ages and abilities.

At Breathing Light you are welcome to drop into any class and give it a try. If you have little or no experience you'll want to start with the Essential (beginning) Series or have a one-on-one session. Students are welcome to move through the levels as desired and/or by recommendation of the instructor. This can be done through private sessions or in class. If you are unsure about where to start, feel free to contact us and we can let you know what the optimum class might be for you.

This course teaches you the details of the pilates technique. The method is introduced slowly and carefully to ensure thorough understanding and healthy execution of the exercises. Class size is limited to provide ample attention to each participant and provide optimum learning.

By the end of this course you will feel the effects of developing a STRONG CORE, overall STRENGTH/FLEXIBILITY and HEALTHY POSTURAL PATTERNS. Once completed, continue with drop-in Pilates classes as your schedule permits.

Pilates I

A class for those comfortable with Pilates basics and ready for a more challenging routine.


Pilates II

This class moves more quickly through the traditional exercises and adds props for resistance.


Pilates Mixed Level

A class for those at either level I or II. Modifications are shown to enhance or reduce challenge. Props may be used.


Private Sessions

Please contact us for private sessions.

Private sessions are always recommended! They are a chance to have the full focus on you! These sessions give you a chance to make sure you are working efficiently and correctly. We are able to address any postural issues you may have, teach you how to work around personal limitation or injury, customize a personal workout if desired and answer any questions you may have. If you are wanting to take the Essential series but can't make all the classes, private sessions can replace missed classes or be substituted for the Essential series entirely. They are also an option for the person who simply prefers the privacy of one-on-one sessions versus group classes.

Private sessions: $55
Duets (private w/a friend): $37.50 per person
Trio (three person session): $25 per person
